1. NCERT expands chapter on Mahmud Ghazni in Class 7 book
On 7 December, NCERT expanded the topic of Mahmud Ghazni’s invasion of India in the Class 7 Social Science book. Previously, the book only had one paragraph on Ghazni.
The new book includes looting of Mathura temple and destruction of Somnath temple.
The new book ‘Exploring Societies: India and Beyond’ now describes in 6 pages how Ghazni attacked Hindu temples, looted them and killed non-Muslims to spread Islam.
2. Students protest against dance teacher in MP, video goes viral
This video is from Sandipani PK Government Girls School in Rewa. In the video, students are angrily saying that the dance teacher touches them inappropriately. He teaches couple dance in school.
Students gathered to protest and raise slogans against the dance teacher.
According to the report, students allege that they complained to the principal but the principal is trying to protect the teacher. Meanwhile, the dance teacher is a guest teacher and has resigned from the post after these allegations.
