BPSSC Forest Range Officer Vacancy 2026 has been announced a total of 16 vacant seats for the Forest Range Officer post this year. The seats are divided among different groups of people according to reservation laws. 

• Unreserved (General): 06 seats (2 reserved for women)

• Scheduled Caste (SC): 03 seats (1 reserved for women)

• Scheduled Tribe (ST): 00 seats

• Extremely Backward Class (EBC): 03 seats (1 reserved for women)

• Backwards Class (BC): 02 seats 

• Economically Weaker Sections (EWS): 02 seats 

Additionally, 1 seat is reserved horizontally for the grandchildren of freedom fighters.

Candidates must meet the following BPSSC Forest Range Officer Eligibility 2026 before applying:

1. Nationality

• The candidate must be a citizen of India.

• Male, female, and third-gender candidates are eligible to apply.

2. Educational Qualification (As of August 1, 2025)

Candidates must have a Bachelor’s degree (Graduation) from a recognised university.

The degree should be in at least one of the following subjects:

3. Age Limit (As of August 1, 2025)

• General (Male): 21 years to 37 years

4. Physical Standards

Candidates must meet the prescribed physical standards. No marks are awarded for physical measurements, but candidates who do not meet the required standards will be disqualified.

• Chest without expansion: Minimum 79 cm

• Chest with expansion: Minimum 84 cm

BPSSC Forest Range Officer Selection Process 2026

BPSSC Forest Range Officer Selection Process 2026 is divided into four main parts:  

• Written Examination: This is a pen-and-paper test with objective questions.  

• Interview: Candidates who pass the written exam are called for a personal interview worth 50 marks. 

•  Physical Efficiency Test (PET): A walking test to check physical stamina.  

• Medical Test: A final check by a team of doctors to ensure candidates are healthy and free from body defects. People with only one working eye cannot get this job.  

BPSSC Forest Range Officer Exam Pattern 2026

BPSSC Forest Range Officer Exam Pattern 2026 comprises of two papers in the exam. 

Paper 1: General Hindi

• Type of Questions: Multiple-choice questions (MCQs)

• Number of Questions: 50

• Total Marks: 100 marks

• Marks for Each Correct Answer: 2 marks

• Negative Marking: 0.2 marks will be deducted for each incorrect answer

• Duration: 1 hour

• Qualifying Requirement: Candidates must score at least 30 marks to qualify. The marks obtained in this paper are qualifying in nature and are not included in the final merit list.

Paper 2: General Studies

• Type of Questions: Multiple-choice questions (MCQs)

• Number of Questions: 100

• Subjects Covered: General Knowledge, Current Affairs, General Science, Civics, Indian History, Geography, Mathematics, and Mental Ability

• Total Marks: 300 marks

• Marks for Each Correct Answer: 3 marks

• Negative Marking: 0.3 marks will be deducted for each incorrect answer

• Duration: 2 hours

Selected candidates will receive a salary under Pay Level-6. BPSSC Forest Range Officer Salary 2026 is 35,400 Rupees to 1,12,400 Rupees per month. Along with this basic pay, officers also receive extra government allowances like dearness allowance and house rent allowance according to state rules.
