India gets employment boost as PM Modi distributes 51,000 government job letters


Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday virtually distributed appointment letters to more than 51,000 youths for central government jobs at a ‘Rozgar Mela’, according to a report by PTI, marking another step in the government’s ongoing employment generation initiative.

The large-scale recruitment exercise forms part of a broader programme that has seen approximately 12 lakh appointment letters issued through 18 Rozgar Mela events held across the country since its inception.

Addressing the gathering, the Prime Minister stated that the day marked an important milestone for thousands of young people, with over 51,000 candidates receiving government job appointments and becoming partners in the country’s development journey. He said the recruits would take on responsibilities across sectors such as railways, banking, defence, health, education and other key areas.

He further stated that the newly appointed candidates would play a significant role in advancing the vision of a developed India in the coming years and extended congratulations to both the recruits and their families.

Prime Minister Modi stated that India’s youth are central to accelerating the country’s progress towards the goal of a ‘Viksit Bharat’, adding that the Rozgar Mela reflects the government’s commitment to empowering young people with employment opportunities.

He said the global community is increasingly recognising India’s youth and technological advancement, adding that there is growing international interest in being part of India’s development journey.

Officials stated that the Rozgar Mela is a key initiative aligned with the government’s focus on prioritising employment generation and translating this commitment into tangible outcomes.

The event was conducted across 47 locations nationwide, with selected candidates from different parts of the country set to join various ministries and departments, including railways, home affairs, health and family welfare, financial services and higher education, among others.
