SSC CHSL 2026 Notification Out: Registration Begins For 2,536 Vacancies, Check Application Last Date, Eligibility, Salary, Fee And Selection Process


The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has announced the Combined Higher Secondary (10+2) Level Examination 2026, opening recruitment for approximately 2,536 tentative vacancies. The posts include Lower Divisional Clerk (LDC), Junior Secretariat Assistant (JSA), Data Entry Operator (DEO) and DEO Grade ‘A’ across various central government departments and offices.

The notification was released on September 7, 2026, and the online registration process has also started. Candidates who meet the eligibility requirements can submit their applications through the official SSC website.

The commission has notified around 2,536 tentative vacancies under the current recruitment cycle. The final vacancy count may be updated later.

SSC CHSL 2026 Vacancy And Salary

The recruitment covers LDC, JSA, DEO and DEO Grade ‘A’ positions.

•    LDC/JSA: Pay Level 2 – Rs. 19,900 to Rs. 63,200 
•    DEO: Pay Level 4 – Rs. 25,500 to Rs. 81,100 
•    DEO Grade ‘A’: Pay Level 5 – Rs. 29,200 to Rs. 92,300

The posts are available across different Ministries, Departments and Offices of the Government of India.

SSC CHSL Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must have passed Class 12 or an equivalent examination from a recognised board. For the 2026 recruitment, the prescribed age limit is 18 to 27 years as on August 1, 2026. Candidates should have been born between August 2, 1999, and August 1, 2008.

Age relaxation will be available to eligible candidates belonging to reserved categories as per government rules.

SSC CHSL 2026 Application Fee

The application fee for eligible UR, OBC and EWS male candidates is Rs. 100. The commission has exempted women candidates, SC, ST, PwBD and ESM candidates from paying the application fee.

How To Apply For SSC CHSL 2026?

Candidates can complete the registration process through the official SSC website or the my SSC mobile application. The application process involves:

1.    Completing One-Time Registration, if not already done. 
2.    Logging in and filling out the CHSL 2026 application form. 
3.    Providing the required academic and personal details. 
4.    Completing the live photograph capture process. 
5.    Uploading the required signature. 
6.    Paying the application fee, wherever applicable. 
7.    Submitting the completed form. 
8.    Downloading and retaining a copy of the application for future reference.

Candidates should review the information entered in the form carefully before final submission.

SSC CHSL 2026 Selection Process

The selection process will include Tier-I and Tier-II computer-based examinations. Depending on the post, candidates may also have to appear for a skill test or typing test, followed by document verification. The dates for the Tier-I and Tier-II examinations have not yet been announced by the commission. Candidates should regularly check official SSC updates for information regarding the examination schedule.
