SSC Stenographer Final Result 2026: The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has declared the final result of the Stenographer Grade ‘C’ & ‘D’ Examination, 2025 on August 25, 2026. The final result has been prepared after the First Round of Tentative Allocation (FRTA) and the subsequent Sliding/Identity Verification (IV) process.
A total of 1,715 candidates have been provisionally shortlisted for the further selection process. This includes 1,055 candidates under FIX, 549 under FLOAT and 111 candidates receiving new allocation against vacancies created due to the absence of candidates during the Sliding/Identity Verification process.

SSC Stenographer Grade C Final Result 2026
For Stenographer Grade ‘C’, the Commission has reported 232 vacancies, against which 232 candidates have been recommended. The category-wise breakup includes 22 SC, 14 ST, 50 OBC, 27 EWS and 119 UR candidates.
The Grade ‘C’ vacancies cover various Ministries and Departments, including the Central Administrative Tribunal, Ministry of Finance, Ministry of External Affairs, Ministry of Home Affairs, Election Commission of India, Ministry of Defence and other departments.
SSC Stenographer Grade D Final Result 2026
For Stenographer Grade ‘D’, the Commission has reported 1,483 vacancies, and 1,483 candidates have been recommended. The category-wise breakup comprises 190 SC, 86 ST, 350 OBC, 146 EWS and 711 UR candidates.
The Grade ‘D’ posts have been allocated across several Ministries and Departments, including the Central Administrative Tribunal, Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs, CBIC, Ministry of External Affairs, Ministry of Defence, Intelligence Bureau, Election Commission of India, CBI, EPFO, Railway Board and others.
SSC Stenographer Final Result 2026: Selection Process
The final allocation has been made according to the candidates’ merit-cum-preference of posts and the FIX/FLOAT option selected during the Sliding/Identity Verification process. Candidates who failed to attend the physical sliding process were treated as absent and were not considered for the final result.
The Commission has also allotted fresh ranks to candidates included in the final result. These fresh ranks will supersede the ranks allotted in the FRTA.
SSC Stenographer Final Result 2026: Tie-Breaking Rules
In cases where candidates secured equal aggregate marks in the Computer Based Examination, the tie was resolved using the following criteria in sequence:

SSC Stenographer Final Result 2026: Document Verification
After declaration of the final result, Document Verification and appointment formalities will be carried out by the allocated User Department. The selection remains purely provisional and is subject to successful verification of educational qualification, caste/category and other required documents.
If a candidate does not receive any communication from the concerned allocated User Department within six months from the declaration of the final result, the candidate is required to contact the concerned User Department immediately thereafter.
SSC Stenographer Final Result 2026: No Waiting List
The Commission has clarified that no Reserve List or Waiting List will be prepared. Any unfilled vacancies in the final result or vacancies arising because of non-joining of shortlisted candidates will be carried forward to the next recruitment year by the concerned Departments/Organisations.
