UPESSC Assistant Professor Recruitment 2026: Uttar Pradesh Education Services Selection Commission (UPESSC) has released the recruitment advertisement for Assistant Professor posts under Advertisement Number 04/2026. The drive covers 1,936 vacancies in co-educational and women’s degree colleges across Uttar Pradesh.The official notification was released on September 08, 2026, and online applications have also opened. Eligible candidates can apply until October 07, 2026, which is also the last date for depositing the application fee. Candidates must complete the mandatory One Time Registration (OTR) before submitting the application.Recruitment details and important datesThe recruitment is being conducted by the Higher Education Department, Uttar Pradesh. The post carries a Level-10 pay scale of Rs. 57,700 to Rs. 1,82,400. The maximum age limit is 62 years, calculated as on July 01, 2026. Age relaxation will apply according to the applicable rules.

Candidates in the UR, General, OBC and EWS categories must pay Rs. 2,000. The fee is Rs. 1,500 for SC and ST candidates and Rs. 1,000 for PWD candidates. The written examination will carry 360 marks and contain 120 objective-type multiple-choice questions. Of these, 30 questions will cover General Knowledge and 90 will be subject-specific.Exam pattern and marking schemeCandidates will get two hours to complete the written examination. Each correct answer will carry three marks, while one mark will be deducted for every incorrect answer. The interview or personality test will carry 40 marks.Steps to apply onlineCandidates should visit the UPESSC portal, complete OTR with a valid email address and mobile number, and select the Assistant Professor application under Advertisement Number 04/2026. The form must be completed in English.Applicants must upload a photograph in JPG/JPEG format of 30 KB to 300 KB and a signature of 10 KB to 200 KB.
